Why is it called Soaring Heart Center?

Once upon a time in Mexico, Kathy found a beautiful art piece depicting the sacred heart with wings attached and brought it home. Originally, they saw it as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Over time, it came to symbolize something else: the capacity your sacred heart has to soar, if only you can find the courage to go inward.

How does coaching work, and how is coaching different from counseling or therapy?"

Coaching is change-focused. Coaches support clients in making the changes they seek in their life. Sex and relationship coaching typically involves:   concerns about sexual desire or mismatched desire with partner(s) increased intimacy in relationship(s) issues with sexual response, including orgasm, erection and arousal, and painful sex communicating about sex including kink, risk reduction, consent, and trauma communicating about relationship expectations including opening relationships, co-parenting, and concerns about trust exploring sexual attraction and arousal, including erotic and romantic orientation exploring gender, including expectations, expression, identity, and transitioning attracting love and building relationship skills Gaining accurate scientific information about sexuality and understanding the myths we are taught about sexuality can allow you to make great shifts in how you think about and experience things. Few people get access to helpful healthy sexuality education at school, home, or places of worship. This leaves us left to figure things out based on what has been learned from cultural stereotypes  (limiting and often false), religious messages (often full of shame),  Hollywood (full of gender-bias and magic), and porn (unlike most people’s lives).   In coaching, you look at how unhelpful things you learned can create problems you don’t need to have.  As personal attitudes and beliefs are explored and supplemented by accurate scientific information, you will identify shifts you want to make in your life. Your coach provides support and accountability to assist in achieving your goals.   Odds are, you have what you need to create the changes you want. Because you will do homework to practice some things between sessions, you will get to shifts pretty readily and have fewer sessions than is typical for counseling or therapy.
