Allyson Broadstreet, M.A.

Pronouns: She/Her

Hello! My name is Allyson, and my approach to the therapeutic relationship is based in transparency and honesty, not just from you, but from myself. I believe that the best work is done when the therapeutic relationship is strong and collaborative. I want the space I create for you to be affirming, and one in which we are free to be human. Therapy can feel weird and awkward, especially if you’ve never done it before, so I strive to create an environment in which we are equals, and you feel like you are able to be your most authentic self.

I take an integrated approach to counseling, drawing mainly from trauma-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. It sounds like a lot, but I want to tailor your treatment to what you want and what you need. I am also a firm believer in the power of stories, and how telling those stories can lead to taking new perspectives and making new connections that we may not have seen before.

I provide both in-person and telehealth services. My out-of-pocket fee is $125 per session, but we can discuss a sliding scale fee if necessary.

I graduated in July 2022 from Ball State University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before that, I graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Psychological Sciences (and minors in Human Development and Theatre!). Throughout my schooling, I have done research in fields such as neurodivergence in children, perinatal health, maternal mortality, and substance use disorders. Clinically, my interests are in working in the realms of perinatal health, various mood disorders, trauma, and sexual health and wellness.

When I am not in the therapeutic space, I enjoy listening to music and podcasts, roller skating, cooking and baking with my partner, and relaxing with my cats: DJ Katled and Penelope! If you have any questions about the therapeutic process or would like to schedule a time to meet, feel free to reach out!
